Green PI Inc. is presently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to provide support on ongoing projects in relation to engineering design, Building Condition Assessment (BCA), and HVAC Design and is familiar with working on Net Zero Emissions reports and Environmental Sustainability reports. This is a permanent position.

Must have:

  • Must have five years of engineering design experience, commercial building evaluation, Building Condition Assessment (BCA), HVAC Design and familiar with working on Net Zero Emissions reports and Environmental Sustainability reports.
  • Must be registered with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), and have a P.Eng.
  • Driver’s license is required.
  • Able to use Mechanical Engineering technical skills to be able to work on engineering design and be able to work with other disciplines such as electrical, structural.

Experience With Following Programs

  • Familiar with Microsoft programs; eg: Excel, Word, Projects, etc.
  • AutoCAD
  • RETscreen, HAP, Revit, experience would be an asset.

Certificates

  • P.Eng is required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Role:

At Green PI Inc, you will be providing assistance with ongoing and new projects that requires an experienced mechanical engineer with expertise in design engineering.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience and knowledgeable with HVAC design engineering, feasibility analysis, and energy modeling.
  • Experience with completing work on site for site surveys to a level to document existing conditions including mechanical, electrical and structural components to an extent that will allow them or a team member to reflect this information in AutoCAD.
  • Familiar with reviewing existing data from clients in regards to GHG emissions:
  • – Reviewing budget plans, BCA reports, and completed energy retrofit reports by third party consultants, and any available plans/reports
  • – Review current capital implementation plans, client’s mast plan, strategic plan, and technology plan
  • – Verify existing targets set and implementation plans
  • – Conduct on-site visits as needed to collect/verify information and communication with client
  • Identify gaps and carry out outstanding assessments required.
  • Review/Develop energy analysis for individual facilities to verify current equipment consumption for future net zero system requirements.
  • Propose pathways towards net zero emissions for client.
  • Identify opportunities for replacement/improvement, and innovative solutions, to reduce emissions, water consumption and waste to net zero.
  • Provide specifications for proposed solutions:
  • – Building-specific zero emissions transition plans and modelled emissions and energy savings
  • – Technical scope of work/prepare specifications for tendering agreed upon solutions
  • – Prepare scope of programs for transportation, water, and waste as required
  • – Identify solutions that also address long term climate resiliency
  • – Create a schedule for implementation:
  • – Prioritize buildings based on opportunities and natural intervention points.
  • Ensure all projects are compliant with all provincial and national regulatory standards pertaining to health and safety, quality and labor management.
  • Perform any other needed duties as required.
